Mallard Park takes on two key goals. The first is creating a sustainable building that supports the wellness of its occupants. The second is looking at ways architecture can improve hybrid work. Located in North Carolina about twenty minutes outside of Raleigh, about half the site is a wetland. In order to preserve this ecology, the office was place near the street, which also unified it with existing context. A walking trail surrounding the wetland is one of the many wellness aspects of the project as a way to celebrate the nature on site.

Redefining how hybrid offices are arranged began by breaking down the notion that hybrid employees need to be tethered to a desk while in the office. Many companies today are moving toward laptops and docking stations as the standard equipment of office workers. This invites flexibility that is enhanced by our design. The ground floor boasts a variety of options for seating with different levels of privacy or collaboration. There are acoustic pods for focused individual work. More traditional desk groupings for standard semi-private office space. There are also soft seating and formal conference table arrangements for discussions and collaboration to occur spontaneously. The upper floor features a wraparound terrace with lounge and tabletop furniture options.
